Crabbing

Today my brothers and I took my dad out crabbing on Bellingham Bay. We had fun.
The view from my parent's deck when we left at 7am.

Getting ready to go from Gregg's House.

Grandpa with the Crab Pot.

Getting the boat in the water and ready to go.

At the Bellingham Bay Loading Dock.

Bait in the pot. The bait is cut up salmon parts.

A little crab in the pot. (She had to go back to the sea.)

Several crabs in the pot.

Girl Crab. You can't keep these. Girls are protected. See the eggs? You have to throw HER back.

Gregg Crabbing. It was rough and stormy out there. You can see a buoy in the distance.

The boy crabs must exceed six inches across to make it home.

Gary was not crabby while crabbing. We had lots of coffee. Yum.

Gregg demonstrates how to hold a Dungeness crab without getting pinched. Grandpa enjoys the scenery.

Heading back in to shore.
Two boy crabs in the bucket. They were not happy.

The sun finally came out as we were heading back in.

Thank you Gregg Moon for a wonderful day.
